It was only a matter of time before the pop star will.i.am paired up with a hot fashion line. Was it in time to save itself from the poor reviews and unsatisfied testers?

The I.am PULS Smart Band launched and sadly received poor user reviews like the one made by Dan Seifert from the verge and Raymon Wong from Mashable.

Dan Seifert says “Will.i.am’s Puls smartwatch is the worst product I’ve touched all year

Raymon Wong Says “I could barely see the screen properly while indoors, and it’s near impossible to see under the sun.”

Will Gucci Save The I.am Smart Band

Although the model given to Dan was an early prototype and the newer is said to be better, much bigger things are stirring up for this wearable underdog. Will.i.am and Gucci CEO Marco Bizarre stand side by side as they unveil plans for a Gucci makeover for the smart arm band.

There is little details towards design or pricing of the new Gucci I.am standalone smart band but it’s said to be 40% smaller than the first edition. The I.am Puls sold for $399, may this be a judge for the next editions cost.

With the poor ratings already received, major improvements would be expected if this wearable device is to compete. Google and Tag Heuer is not going to make it easy, not to mention the upcoming Apple Watch.
